News from the Western Marches! Sedambrino (Magic-User), Lanar of Un (human Fighter), G'Shank One-Nose (dwarf Barbarian), Flatchet the Faceless (human Fighter) and Valamin (elf Fighter) headed out for a second expedition to the Old Sewers. Sedambrino brought a charmed swordsman, and Lanar of Un bought Stuart as a porter. On the second level of the sewers, a room complex was discovered and partially looted, revealing a magical warhammer, a lost explorer, a bag of gold and small gemstones, but also many ded bodies, slimes, and malevolent magics. A hidden rune was activated, and in a giant hall of great columns, a horrifying monster composed of an antlered skull, a skeletal body, and numerous rootlike feet was slain with a sustained volley of missiles and melee attacks. Alas, no treasure was found in its lair, but several ways forward are to be seen (maps to follow shortly). On the way home, we were joined by the rescued explorer, Ulfan of the Glenn Higgs expedition. Furthermore, a company of bandits who were shadowing us previously had tried to rob us, but they were half slain, and half scattered to the winds, to bring news of our power to their miscreant companions! Verily, so we returned, not weaker, but indeed stronger than we had started.
