News from the Western Marches! Flatchet the Faceless (human Fighter), Valamin (elf Fighter), Noxious Nedd (human Assassin), Plum (human Fighter), and Necromalkus (human Necromancer) headed out for a return expedition to the Foul Tomb.  Through some very clever maneuvering they defeated a half-dozen Shadows, losing Necromalkus and Plum in the process, but obtaining a significant amount of treasure. They returned to town and recruited Mulp (Human Fighter) and Sewi Side (Human ?, should have been an M-U) to enter the Foul Tomb once more. The mystical circlet and magic sword that should have been rightfully theirs were taken deeper into the dungeon by someone with boots. They found a corridor with several urns, one of which incinerated Sewi, and another of which contained a metal snake which Flatchet dispatched with a mighty blow. (Someone else hit it too.) They attempted to go deeper but found a huge mushroom cult with 15 fish warriors and a wizard of some kind, from which they silently retreated, grateful that Nedd had been so stealthy. After that they went to another wing of the dungeon, where they found a really wimpy hideous mutated demon creature that they totally would have slaughtered if something hadn't yanked its chain to save it from us at the last minute. Then they got attacked by ten mechanical birds; they killed one but decided they were overmatched with but four doughty desperadoes and called it a day. The two gems from the snake battle were a fitting consolation prize.
