Description
Constitution: A combination of general health and vitality. Apply the Constitution bonus or penalty to each Hit Die rolled by the character. Note that a penalty here will not reduce any hit die roll to less than 1 point.
Notes
- Elves cannot naturally raise Constitution above 17
- Characters above level 9 gain a fixed set of HP every level and no longer add their Constitution bonus - capping the possible HP Gain/Loss from Constitution to +/-27
- Constitution changes apply their effects to HP immediately. Gaining +1 to your bonus will effectively gain you 1 Max HP a level up to a max of 9 per point. Losing 1 will reduce your max HP by a similar amount. Points of Max HP gained must still be filled in with normal healing and HP gain. In other words the new Max HP gained are empty.
- Traveling at a Forced March pace will deal 1d6 damage per day through exhaustion unless the characters can each succeed a Constitution modified Save vs Death Ray
- You may run for a number of rounds equal to twice your Constitution bonus (minimum 1 round) before you have to rest for a round
- Characters must sleep for 6 hours every 24 hours, minus one hour per point of Constitution bonus. Missing this sleep gives a stacking -1 penalty on all rolls and prevents daily healing.
- Drained Constitution returns at a rate of 1 point a day
- Saves against poison are always modified by Constitution bonus
