News from the Western Marches! Further secrets of the Sewers were investigated by a large band of brave adventurers: G'Shank One-Nose (dwarf Fighting-Man), Valamin (elf Fighter), Flatchet the Faceless (Fighting-Man), Lanar of Un (Fighting-Man), Chester Grime (Necromancer), Mulp (Thief?), Sedambrino (Magic-User), Ulthan the Dwarf (charmed henchman), and a mule! Returning to level 2, more bugs were slain and the body of a dead dwarf recovered from a storeroom, with a shaft going up. Indeed, the very place where Ulthan had fallen down before meeting us! At this point, Scrappy the Dog, ever faithful, came running down the corridor to join our brave band. Nearby, an alarm trap was set off, but the giant rats coming at us were all slain with missiles before meeting and joining forces with an expedition of dwarves looking for the Cup of Arrows. This artefact was allegedly stolen from their clan 100 years ago by thieves. A flight of stairs from a northern chnnel room descended into a flooded section, where a group of eels were cooked by baiting them with meat, and frying them in oil. A nearby room hid a throne of a king, and a treasure chest: coinage, and two rubies of 200 gp each! We now headed into the burrows SE of the Hall of Columns where we fought the antlered monstrosity. Beyond rats' nests, an altar room with tapestries and a foul antlered idol on top of a treasure-laden idol was discovered! But behold! The tapestries concealed a hidden gas trap, which we sealed up with bundles of a dismembered blanket, and a jar of grease. Then, we swept the valuables off of the altar and retreated as the trap went off. Now richer with more copper and silver coinage - Crom curse these weakling cultists for insulting us with such meagre pickings! - and finally a price worth a warrior, a 500 gp gemstone! Thus we returned in town, all having survived the expedition!
